摘要： A fuel injection control device controls a spark-ignition engine of an intra-cylindrical direct fuel injection type. The engine includes a fuel injection valve configured to directly inject a fuel to an interior of a cylinder, and a spark plug configured to ignite, by a spark, an air-fuel mixture inside the cylinder. When the injected fuel collides with a portion in a predetermined low-temperature state, the fuel is injected while changing a fuel injection condition under predetermined operating conditions so as to restrain a fuel spray from keeping colliding with the same position continuously.

摘要： An engine includes a crankshaft rotatable about a crankshaft axis. A compression piston is slidably received within a compression cylinder and operatively connected to the crankshaft such that the compression piston is operable to reciprocate through an intake stroke and a compression stroke during a single rotation of the crankshaft. An expansion (power) piston is slidably received within an expansion cylinder and operatively connected to the crankshaft such that the expansion piston is operable to reciprocate through an expansion stroke and an exhaust stroke during a single rotation of the crankshaft. At least two crossover passages interconnect the compression and expansion cylinders. Each of the at least two crossover passages includes a crossover compression (XovrC) valve and a crossover expansion (XovrE) valve operable to define a pressure chamber therebetween. The engine controls and maximizes engine efficiency at part-load by utilizing only selected crossover passages.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for operating an internal combustion engine with direct fuel injection. According to said method, air and a first quantity of fuel are supplied to a combustion chamber such that a homogeneous basic lean mixture is formed in the combustion chamber. A second quantity of fuel is introduced into the combustion chamber in an area of an upper dead center of the piston such that an ignitable cloudy mixture is formed within the range of a source of ignition inside the homogeneous basic lean mixture, and the cloudy mixture formed by means of the second quantity of fuel is ignited with the aid of the source of ignition, causing the homogeneous basic lean mixture that is located in the combustion chamber to spontaneously ignite due to combustion of the cloudy mixture which is formed by means of the second quantity of fuel.
