摘要： A method of controlling speed change of a hydraulic drive device for vehicles and a speed change device, which provide a favorable travelling efficiency and a favorable controllability. The method of controlling speed change comprises performing control through discriminating at least between power running and brake running from a magnitude of acceleration (υ) and a rotating speed of a hydraulic motor (50). At the time of power running, a change-over valve (21) may be fully opened in accordance with the rotating speed (φout) of the hydraulic motor (50) and the magnitude of acceleration (υ). Also, the speed change device comprises a detecting sensor (61a) for the magnitude of acceleration, a motor rotating speed detecting sensor (52) for detecting a vehicle speed (V), and a control device (60) for discriminating between power running and brake running on the basis of the magnitude of acceleration (φout) and the vehicle speed (V) for controlling.

Dadurch erfolgt eine schnellere Abbremsung. Die schnellere Abbremsung ermöglicht es, den Querschnitt des Strömungsmittelauslasses zu vergrößern, so daß der Strömungswiderstand kleiner wird. Der kleinere Strömungswiderstand, der während der gesamten Bewegung des Kolbens als Gegenkraft wirkt, ermöglicht eine höhere Geschwindigkeit des Kolbens.

The cylinder unit has a first fluid supply passage for simultaneously supplying a working fluid to an acting side of the piston in each one of the plurality of cylinder chambers for performing a power stroke of the piston rod, and a second fluid supply passage for supplying the same working fluid to a back side of the piston in only one of the plurality of the cylinder chambers for performing a return stroke of the piston rod. The piston rod moves faster in the return stroke than it does in the power stroke to perform a quick return.

The example apparatus further includes a valve controller operatively coupled to the actuator to control the pressurized control fluid in response to a position of the rotary valve. The example apparatus further includes a pressure limiter operatively coupled to the valve controller and fluidly coupled to the first port of the actuator. The pressure limiter is to reduce a pressure of the pressurized fluid provided to the first port of the actuator to reduce a seating force of the flow control member when the rotary valve is in a closed position.
