    • A method of producing an ocular lens, comprising the steps of: (a) preparing a lens blank which gives an ocular lens, the lens blank having a concave back surface and a convex front surface, at least a portion of the front surface being tapered to give a tapered surface; (b) forming a back curved surface of the ocular lens by effecting a cutting operation on the concave back surface of the lens blank, while the lens blank is supported on a spindle of a back surface cutting device such that the tapered surface of the lens blank is drawn onto a tapered holding surface of the spindle under a negative pressure applied to the lens blank, the tapered holding surface following a profile of the tapered surface of the lens blank; and (c) forming a front curved surface of the ocular lens by effecting a cutting operation on the front surface of the lens blank whose back surface has been cut to form the back curved surface, while the lens blank is supported on a spindle of a front surface cutting device such that the back curved surface of the lens blank is drawn onto a holding surface of the spindle of the front surface cutting device under a negative pressure applied to the lens blank.

    • Provided is a container having a detachable lid that is suitable for use as a reusable oil filter and can improve the disassembling and assembling efficiency and minimize the weight. The container 1 suitable for use as an oil filter essentially consists of a casing 2, a set plate 3 closing the lower end of the casing 2 and a lock ring 4 that fastens the set plate 3 onto the casing 2. The casing 2 is provided with a radial outer flange formed around an open end of the main body thereof 22. The radial outer flange 23 is provided with three stop projections 25, three notches 26 and three biasing projections 27, the members of each threesome being arranged at a regular angular interval and each threesome being arranged at different angular phase positions from those of the other threesomes.     • A light emitting semiconductor device includes a base substrate; a light emitting semiconductor element including a crystal growth basis and provided on the base substrate so that the crystal growth basis faces in opposite direction to the base substrate; a first transparent sealing medium which seals the light emitting semiconductor on the base substrate; and a second transparent sealing medium which seals the light emitting semiconductor over the first transparent sealing medium and contains phosphor.
