    • A subtraction processing method for radiation images comprises the steps of obtaining a masked image signal by reading out a masked image of an object recorded without injection of contrast media into a specific structure of the object, and obtaining a live image signal by reading out a live image recorded after contrast media have been injected into the specific structure of the object. The parts of the masked image signal and the live image signal corresponding to the same picture elements in the masked and live images are subtracted, thereby obtaining a difference signal for forming an image of the specific structure. In cases where different read-out conditions are used when obtaining the masked image signal and the live image signal, one of the masked image signal or the live image signal is converted into the image signal which would have been obtained if the same read-out conditions had been used for both images. Subtraction processing is then carried out after one of the image signals has been converted.

    • A processing method by which metals may be recovered at a high purity from metal-containing waste materials. The method for processing metal-containing waste materials comprises crushing a metal-containing waste material to a particle size of 1-50 mesh, separating and recovering the metal-containing particles from the crushed portion, introducing the metal-containing particles into a vacuum heating furnace, pre-heating the furnace while under suction evacuation, and then raising the temperature of the furnace in stages while continuing the vacuum suctioning, recovering the metal and non-metal vapor produced at each temperature level using a condensing and adsorbing means, and recovering the liquated metals as melts. The method may be used to process waste batteries, copper-containing waste materials and the like in the same manner to recover high-purity metals.

    • A method for recovering substance such as zincing or the like adhered to the surface of an object to be processed, by causing such materials to be evaporated in a vacuum. In this method, the object to the processed is placed in a furnace provided with heating means; the temperature within the furnace is elevated up to a predetermined level with the aid of an oxidizing gas atmosphere; the pressure in the furnace is reduced so that the quantity of the oxidizing gas is reduced to be below the explosion limit; and vaccum or a reducing gas atmosphere is fed into the furnace to reduce the oxidization of the object to be processed. Thereafter, the interior of the furnace is evacuated while being maintained under a predetermined evaporation temperature condition; and the substance evaporated from the object to be processed is passed to recovery means provided in communication with the furnace, so that the substance thus evaporated is condensed in the recovery means and recovered therefrom.
