    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side air bag device for a vehicle for making a deployment position of an air bag cope with various accidents in a market compared to the conventional device.
      SOLUTION: An air bag module 20 is moved in the vehicle fore and aft direction and vertical direction in a side door 1 by a movement mechanism 70 based on a detection result of a seat state detection sensor 30, a pre-crash sensor 40, and an acceleration sensor 50 prior to collision. Therefore, the deployment position of an air bag 21 can be set by considering all of (a) a seat state (physique of an occupant), (b) direction and speed of collision of a colliding object, (c) presence or absence of deceleration by a brake, and presence or absence of collision avoidance operation by a steering wheel, thus making the deployment position of the air bag 21 cope with various accidents in a market compared to the conventional device.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce impact which a hood adds to a collision element. SOLUTION: In the hood rotating structure 10, when the collision element collides with the hood 12, a hinge arm 32 is rotated downward about a hinge pin 26. By rotating an engaging protrusion 36 of the hinge arm 32, a fitting position of the engaging protrusion 36 to an engaging groove 30 of the hinge pin 26 is displaced to move the hinge pin 26 to an outer side in a vehicular width direction. Therefore, fitting of the hinge pin 26 to a rotating hole 34 of the hinge arm 32 is released, and the hinge arm 32 is separated from a hinge bracket 20, thereby facilitating downward movement of the hood 12.
