摘要： A temperature sensor includes a clamp and a thermistor. The clamp is adapted to be inserted into an opening formed in an object, and has a shaft member. A flange member is extended from the shaft member in a direction orthogonal to an inserting direction in which the clamp is inserted into the opening. An engaging member extended from an end part of the shaft member toward the flange member in a direction inclined with the inserting direction. The thermistor is provided in the shaft member and is disposed in the end part. The engaging member and the flange member are adapted to clamp the object therebetween when the clamp is inserted into the opening.

摘要： In one embodiment, a semiconductor laser includes a semiconductor laminated body formed in a ring shape and first and second electrodes. The semiconductor laminated body includes an active layer, first and second cladding layers formed on both sides of the active layer, first and second contact layers formed on the first and second cladding layers, and first and second modified layers. The first and second modified layers are formed by selectively modifying the inner peripheral sidewalls and the outer peripheral sidewalls of the first and second cladding layers so as to have a refractive index lower than the refractive indexes of the first and second cladding layers. The first and second contact layers are electrically connected to the first and second electrodes.

The first tape guides are provided on the mount at positions approximately adjacent to and on opposite sides of the magnetic head. The mount is formed of a high-accuracy material, and the first and second tape guides are formed of materials having low friction properties which include portions molded into holes provided in the high-accuracy material to form an integral unit. The inner wall of one of the projections of each of the first tape guide is formed as a perpendicular surface and the inner wall of the other projection of each of the first tape guides is formed as an inclined surface. The inner walls of both projections of the second tape guides are formed as perpendicular surfaces.

摘要： A method for the hydrogenation of coal tar pitch which comprises subjecting said coal tar pitch containing toluene insolubles to slight hydrogenation in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst having carried on a refractory inorganic oxide carrier at least one member selected from the class consisting of elemental metals, belonging to Groups VI B and VIII in the Periodic Table and oxides and sulfides thereof, under the conditions of 280.degree. to 400.degree. C. of reaction temperature, 20 to 200 kg/cm.sup.2. G of hydrogen pressure, 0.1 to 10 hr.sup.-1 of LHSV, and 500 to 2,000 Nl/liter of hydrogen to liquid ratio, and a catalyst therefor. The "slight" hydrogenation is hydrogenation to a degree such that the difference of hydrogen to carbon atomic ratio between the untreated coal tar pitch and the hydrogenated coal tar pitch falls in the range of 0.03 to 0.5. The coal tar pitch can be coal tar pitch itself, coal tar pitch pretreated for the removal of organic sodium compounds, or pretreated for the removal of quinoline insolubles and, preferably, the coal tar pitch has a density in the range of 1.13 to 1.17 g/cm.sup.2 at 40 degrees C.
