Consequently, the dust sucked by the dust collector 20 is exhausted with drilled sediment and fluid to the rear side of the tunnel drilling machine 1 by the debris chute 9.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce excavation period by installing a thrust cylinder which pivots a cutter head on a cutter head support freely supported on a main beam in such a fashion that it may slide longitudinally and drive the cutter head when the main beam advances. CONSTITUTION:A cutter head 6 is pivoted on the front of a cutter head support 2 in such a fashion that it may rotate freely. Then, s support leg 9, which expands radially, is installed to the front end of a main beam 1. gripper device 10 is installed the rear end of the main beam 1. Driving the cutter head 6 along the main beam 1 fixed on the shaft of a tunnel, a pilot pile P is reamed on a large-sized tunnel. Therefore, the support leg 9, which supports the front end of the main beam 1, is acceptable even if it is small in size. This construction makes it possible to reduce the size of the pilot pile P as well.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect workers found between a tunnel excavator and a succeeding truck or inside the succeeding truck from a falling substance by providing a falling substance blocking plate attached with a door between the excavator and the truck. SOLUTION: Regarding a tunnel excavator 1, which has a succeeding truck connected to its rear and excavates an inclined shaft with a stooping-down roof, falling substance blocking plates 22, 23 of two steps are provided above respective traction beams 20 one in front and one in rear. The respective falling substance blocking plates 22, 23 are arranged so that they may be horizontal while the inclined shaft is excavated and may cover almost the whole horizontal plane in the space above the traction beam 20. The falling substance blocking plate 22, which is made in a shape of cutting one of its elliptical plate end in a straight line and having this end (front end) pivoted to the traction beam 20, has an opening in almost a rectangular shape formed on the center of its front end and the rear end, and the opening on the rear end is provided with a double-leafed hinged door so as to cover the opening. The workers normally work behind (below) the falling substance blocking plates 22, 23.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the safety of operators by providing a collapse preventer that prevents the collapse of the natural ground, in such a way that it can move in and out backward from the rear end of a skin plate. SOLUTION: An excavator main body is provided with a cylindrical skin plate, and a cutter head is freely rotatably supported via a cutter head support located inside the front of the skin plate. A gripper frame 10 is formed behind a cutter support, and a number of first shield jacks 13 are mounted to face the rear of the gripper frame 10. A collapse preventer 19, comprising a cover plate 19a, a connecting plate 19b, and a reinforcing plate 19c, has its rear end mounted on the rear end face of the cylinder tube 13a of each first shield jack 13. While the natural ground being excavated is not yet covered with segments, the collapse preventer 19 is made to project by the operation of the first shield jack 13. Thus the collapse of the natural ground can be prevented.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance excavating efficiency by moving a cutter head backward when starting the cutter head from a stopped condition, and starting a drive source that rotates the cutter head as the cutter head is thus moved backward. SOLUTION: When a cutter head is stated, whether or not a signal for canceling the function of backing a thrust jack 11 is input is determined, and if the backing function is not canceled an operation is halted until a cutter head starting switch 21 is operated. When the starting switch 21 is turned on, the thrust jack 11 is put into contracting action and a cutter head motor 22 is started. When a cutter head actuating signal from a cutter head rotation sensor 23 is input, the contracting action of the thrust jack 11 is stopped. Depending on a timer setting method and stroke tolerances, restarts are made plural times until, during contraction of the thrust jack 11, a minimum tolerance becomes smaller than the stroke necessary for start.

摘要： A tunnel excavator which, in order to carryout a stable gripper replacement during the excavation of an inclined shaft tunnel by minimizing the load imparted to a gripper jack of a main gripper, is provided with a main beam extending along a tunnel wall, a nose gripper and a main gripper provided on front and rear portions respectively of the main beam and supporting the main beam with respect to a wall of a reaming shaft, a main frame which is supported on the main beam so that the main frame can be slid longitudinally, and which has a cutter head supported on a front portion thereof, a hold gripper (roof support, side support and vertical support) supporting the main frame with respect to the wall of the reaming shaft, a thrust jack connecting the main frame and a gripper shoe of the main gripper together, and a holding jack connecting the main frame and a carrier together.
