    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect workers found between a tunnel excavator and a succeeding truck or inside the succeeding truck from a falling substance by providing a falling substance blocking plate attached with a door between the excavator and the truck. SOLUTION: Regarding a tunnel excavator 1, which has a succeeding truck connected to its rear and excavates an inclined shaft with a stooping-down roof, falling substance blocking plates 22, 23 of two steps are provided above respective traction beams 20 one in front and one in rear. The respective falling substance blocking plates 22, 23 are arranged so that they may be horizontal while the inclined shaft is excavated and may cover almost the whole horizontal plane in the space above the traction beam 20. The falling substance blocking plate 22, which is made in a shape of cutting one of its elliptical plate end in a straight line and having this end (front end) pivoted to the traction beam 20, has an opening in almost a rectangular shape formed on the center of its front end and the rear end, and the opening on the rear end is provided with a double-leafed hinged door so as to cover the opening. The workers normally work behind (below) the falling substance blocking plates 22, 23.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and efficiently perform both construction in accordance with the properties of rock-beds, namely, the construction on a wall face to be digged by assembling a plurality of barlike timbering pieces constituted by curving shape steel like a circular arc into a ringlike timbering body if the wall face to be digged is stable and hard rock-bed and the construction of a wall face to be digged by assembling a plurality of facial timbering pieces like plane rectangular frame provided with stretched wire netting for preventing collapse like a ring if the wall face to be digged is loose rock-bed easy to collapse. SOLUTION: A first arm member provided with a gripping device of the facial timbering piece and a second arm member provided with a gripping device of the barlike timbering piece are connected with a turning body arranged in a tunnel excavator in series toward the back, and these gripping devices are provided with a turn prevention part for preventing the turn of the timbering piece in the direction of tunnel cross section and an oscillation prevention part for preventing its oscillation in the direction of tunnel length to assemble the timbering piece accurately and efficiently. The gripping device provided in the first arm member and the gripping device provided in the second arm member are separately used in accordance with the properties of the rock-beds.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assemble a plurality of units into a ring shape in the condition of graphing one unit with an erector head to make rotational movement possible by fixedly providing supporting metal fittings on an erector ring so as to support a unit for supporting structural body. SOLUTION: An erector head 8 and supporting metal fittings 9 are provided on a rotationally movable erector ring 6 arranged on the rear end of an open type tunnel excavator 1. At first, a unit for supporting structure 7 is grasped with the erector head 8, rotationally moved by a prescribed angle, the next unit 7 is joined together by bolts, it is supported with the supporting metal fitting 9, thereafter the ring is rotationally moved in order by prescribed angles so as to assemble a plurality of units 7 into a ring-shape. In the units 7, there is various sorts of different lining roughness, the ring formed out of units 7 is rotationally moved, so as to move the unit 7 having the finest lining roughens to the loose position of the natural ground. Consequently, the ring is formed in the condition of grasping one unit 7 with the erector head 8, and various units 7 constituting the ring can be arranged on the appropriate places.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently assemble a ringed tunnel support by means of a support segment holder revolvable along the inner circumference of a skin plate, by smoothly and accurately feeding and introducing a plurality of tunnel support segments successively to a support segment assembly position in the skin plate. SOLUTION: A ring body is arranged within a skin plate, and a support segment holder is mounted for revolution along the ring body. Along the revolution locus of the holder, a plurality of support segment supporting rollers are arranged in an upper half circumference in the skin plate at short intervals. A plurality of support segment carrying rollers are arranged on the inner bottom of the skin plate in an opposed relation to the support segment supporting rollers. The space over and along the carrying rollers is used as an assembly position. Every time a tunnel support segment fed and introduced to the assembly position is held by the holder and moved circumferentially over a constant angle, the next tunnel support segment is successively coupled to the previous tunnel support segment in a trailing relation, which operation is repeated to assemble a ringed tunnel support supported on the support segment supporting roller.
