    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for steam-reforming ethanol, which exhibits catalytic activity at the temperature (particularly, 225-350°C) lower than that of the conventional catalyst and restrains ethylene and acetaldehyde from being produced as by-products and to provide a method for producing hydrogen by using the catalyst for steam-reforming ethanol. SOLUTION: The catalyst for steam-reforming ethanol is obtained by using indium oxide as a carrier and depositing at least one oxide, which is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal oxides, alkaline earth metal oxides, oxides (except indium oxide) of group 13 elements in the periodic table, first transition metal oxides, rare earth metal oxides and noble metal oxides, on the carrier.
