    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for the reaction of carbon monoxide and water (water gas shift reaction) with a higher catalytic activity at a low temperature than that of a conventional one and for the reaction of methanol and water (steam reforming reaction of methanol), to provide a method for producing hydrogen, to provide a carbon monoxide removal method, and to provide their apparatus. SOLUTION: The invention provides a method and an apparatus for producing hydrogen by water gas shift reaction in the presence of carbon monoxide and water using a catalyst containing palladium and a metal oxide and/or a method and an apparatus for removing carbon monoxide. The invention provides a method and an apparatus for producing hydrogen by reforming reaction in the presence of methanol and water using a catalyst containing palladium and a metal oxide.
