摘要： A method for producing a porous material by forming a water-in-oil type high internal phase emulsion, which method is characterized by causing waste water generated during the process of production to be put to reuse. The waste water is preferred to be reused after the removal of impurities or the adjustment of pH. According to this invention, the waste water can be reused up to 50 repetitions, with the result that the amount of feed water and the amount of waste water will be decreased. Incidentally, by adjusting the pH of the water-in-oil type high internal phase emulsion after the reaction thereof in the range of 4-9, it is made possible to continue the reuse of waste water and, at the same time, lower the stimulating property of the produced porous material.

摘要： An object of this invention is to provide a method for the production of a porous material by polymerizing a water-in-oil type high internal phase emulsion in a briefer time than a conventional technique without impairing the stability of the emulsion. The object of this invention can be accomplished by a method for the production of a porous material comprising a step of polymerizing a water-in-oil type high internal phase emulsion containing a polymerization initiator, wherein the polymerization initiator is a redox type initiator combining an oil-soluble oxidizing agent and a reducing agent, either of the oil-soluble oxidizing agent or the reducing agent is preparatorily added to form the emulsion, and thereafter the remainder of the reducing agent or the oil-soluble oxidizing agent is added to the emulsion to polymerize the added emulsion.

摘要： A method for the production of a porous cross-linked polymer material by the polymerization of an HIPE containing a cross-linking agent, characterized by the fact at least one species of the cross-linking agent is a compound having a double bond equivalent f not less than 120 g/mol. The cross-linking agent is preferred to be a compound possessed of an alkylene oxide moiety or a vinyl polymer containing not less than two polymerizing double bonds in the molecular unit. Thus, it is made possible to produce a porous cross-linked polymer material excellent in absorbency and flexibility, permit the HIPE to be polymerized in a short time, and therefore improve the efficiency of production.

摘要： A combined steel oil control ring is provided which has steel side rails and a steel spacer expander. The spacer expander includes ear portions for contacting the side rails. The ear portions are substantially equally spaced with respect to each other along the internal circumferential portion of the spacer expander. The ear portions have radially external circumferential surfaces adapted to press the side rails radially outwardly by using the resilient force caused by the spacer expander. The spacer expander has up-and-down contours formed circumferentially along the radially external circumferential surface, for preventing the side rails from circumferentially rotating relatively to the spacer expander. The up-and-down contours each include at least two axially extending groove regions and at least three axially extending flat regions. The groove regions and flat regions are dimensioned to extend the life span of the contours and the dies.
