    • A magnetic valve for liquid and gaseous working media, in particular for hydraulic braking systems of motor vehicles, has a first cylindrical housing part surrounded by a magnetic coil and having an inner, axial cylindrical recess for locating and guiding an armature. A tappet can be axially moved by the armature against a restoring spring. A second cylindrical part of the housing is coaxial to the first part of the housing and has an axial cylindrical recess in communication with outer valve connections and in which is arranged a valve seat which co-operates with the tappet. According to the invention, the first and second housing parts (1, 2) form a housing in a single piece made of ferromagnetic material which surrounds the armature (3) over at least part of its length, forming a sleeve (4) whose walls are sufficiently thick to reduce the magnetic short-circuit but are not thicker than required to reliably withstand mechanical stresses.
