    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an α+β type titanium alloy with a reduced number of forming steps.
      SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises: a hydrogen absorption step of making the α+β type titanium alloy absorb hydrogen by holding the alloy in high-temperature hydrogen gas; a solution heat treatment step of subjecting the titanium alloy having absorbed hydrogen to solution heat treatment which heats the titanium alloy to the β-transformation temperature or higher, and then quenches it; a hot plastic working step of plastic-working the solution-treated titanium alloy with a hot working rate of 15% or higher per one time, for a plurality of times to refine crystals, so that the titanium alloy may not cause crack; and a dehydrogenation step of removing hydrogen from the titanium alloy after having been plastic-worked, by immediately holding it in a high temperature and vacuum atmosphere.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricant to be able to improve the lubricating properties for coating and lubricating a vegetable lubricant containing a proper amount of a lipid on the surfaces of rubbing materials each other, while materials such as a metal are rubbed each other, without using a conventional lubricant such as a mineral oil or a cetanol on the surfaces of the materials.
      SOLUTION: A satisfactory work is made possible with good coating adhesion and less seizure compared to a prior method by applying and drying a suspension containing the vegetable lubricant containing the proper amount of the lipid as a main component instead of using the conventional lubricant on the surface of the materials to reduce seizure, while materials are rubbed each other.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, though a titanium alloy is used for various plants and apparatuses for conveyance because of its excellent specific strength and corrosion resistance, and further, it is recently used as a biomaterial because of its excellent bio-compatibility, but, the casting of an α+βtype titanium alloy is composed of large crystal grains, and its strength is low, and to improve the superplastic elongation of an alloy rolled-annealed material by using a superplastic working method as a plastic working method for a hardly workable material such as an α+βtype titanium alloy rolling-annealing material.
      SOLUTION: The titanium alloy is composed in such a manner that a suitable amount of boron is added on the fusion of an α+β type titanium alloy ingot. Thus, the solidified structure is converted into equiaxed fine grains, so that its mechanical properties (strength) can be improved. Further, as for a countermeasure for improving the superplastic elongation, a suitable amount of boron is added to an α+β type titanium alloy, and, working and heat treatment are performed. As a result, plastic working for a component with a complicated shape is facilitated by the superplastic working using the above properties, so that the expansion of the application of the titanium alloy can be expected.

The surfaces of the materials are coated with, instead of the conventional lubricant, a hon-mirin solution (Japanese sweet rice wine for cooking produced using glutinous rice, malted rice, and distilled spirit) that exerts lubricating functions via partial solidification of the hon-mirin solution upon friction of the materials and coated with a hon-mirin solution containing honey or sugar or containing wheat flour as a lubricant.
