    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a fermented liquid containing γ-aminobutyric acid in high concentrations, and to provide the fermented liquid ≤1 g/L in sodium content. SOLUTION: A method for producing γ-aminobutyric acid in high concentrations is provided, comprising spiking a liquid medium with glutamic acid and activated lactobacillus obtained by mixed culture of two or more kinds of lactobacillus to effect activation to ferment the glutamic acid by the activated lactobacillus.
