    • The present invention relates to a method for downlink common pilot configuration for a base station serving a first set of User Equipments UEs and a second set of UEs, wherein the first set of UEs consists of 4-branch MIMO capable UEs and the second set of UEs consists of 4-branch MIMO mode incapable UEs, The method comprises the steps of determining (S410) information related to the UEs served by the Base Station BS; and configuring (S420) transmission of at least one common pilot from the BS to the served UEs based on the determined UE related information.In an example 4-branch MIMO system, at most 4 common pilots are configurable to be transmitted, and the at least one common pilot is two common pilots newly introduced into a legacy system.     • The present invention relates to methods and arrangements that enable easy integration of on/off repeaters in a radio access network and a minimized signaling for the UE repeater selection. This is achieved by a solution where the RBSs are working in a pre- coding mode and where the repeaters are measuring the downlink reference signals, selecting pre-coding matrices and feeding the index of selection back (i.e. the PMI) to the RBS, in analogy with what a UE does. This allows the RBS to distinguish the UE repeater selection, without introducing any extra uplink report or interaction between UEs and repeaters, by comparing the index from the UE with the indices from different repeaters.

    • The disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses that allow for channelisation code allocation adapted for uplink MIMO transmissions. A method for use in a user equipment of a telecommunication system comprises spreading data symbols of a plurality of streams to be transmitted from the user equipment as MIMO transmissions. The step of spreading the data symbols comprises allocating, for each stream, at least one channelisation code (62) to be applied for spreading the data symbols of the stream. The plurality of streams are allocated channelisation codes (62) from a predefined code tree (61) of applicable channelisation codes such that any channelisation code (62) is allocated to more than one stream only if there is no applicable channelisation code left in the code tree (61) which currently is not allocated for any stream. The channelisation code allocation scheme makes it possible to avoid inter- stream interference in many scenarios of uplink MIMO transmissions.

    • The invention discloses a TDM scheduling method for scheduling uplink transmission in a cellular radio communication system, comprising: obtaining relevant parameters including an Uplink pilot quality for each TDM User Equipment in a cell and an available TDM load for TDM UEs in the cell; determining a TDM group size as a number of TDM UEs to be scheduled to transmit simultaneously in a Transmission Time Interval, TTI, by using the obtained relevant parameters; and scheduling the TDM UEs according to the determined TDM group size. The TDM UEs refer to the UEs to be scheduled according to the TDM scheduling method of the present invention in the cell. With the solution of the invention, the UL system performance can be improved. The proposed solution is easy to be implemented.
