    • The disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses that allow for channelisation code allocation adapted for uplink MIMO transmissions. A method for use in a user equipment of a telecommunication system comprises spreading data symbols of a plurality of streams to be transmitted from the user equipment as MIMO transmissions. The step of spreading the data symbols comprises allocating, for each stream, at least one channelisation code (62) to be applied for spreading the data symbols of the stream. The plurality of streams are allocated channelisation codes (62) from a predefined code tree (61) of applicable channelisation codes such that any channelisation code (62) is allocated to more than one stream only if there is no applicable channelisation code left in the code tree (61) which currently is not allocated for any stream. The channelisation code allocation scheme makes it possible to avoid inter- stream interference in many scenarios of uplink MIMO transmissions.

    • In a network (500) that provides high-speed packet access, a mobile terminal (510) is served by multiple activated serving cells (520) which are grouped into cell groups. The mobile terminal monitors control channel transmissions to detect whether there are any transmissions for the mobile terminal from the activated serving cells for each cell group and provides feedback to a primary serving cell. When no transmission is detected from serving cells of a particular cell group, the mobile terminal may transmit feedback information explicitly indicating that no transmission is detected for that cell group. Alternatively, the mobile terminal may withhold transmitting feedback for that cell group and increases the power for transmitting the feedback information for cell groups in which transmissions were detected.

    • Techniques are disclosed for signaling retransmission-related information in a multi-carrier wireless communication system supporting three or more carriers. In an example method, a wireless transceiver forms a first ACK/NACK groupby jointly coding ACK bits and NACK bits for a first subset of the carriers, and transmits the first ACK/NACK group during a first transmission slot allocated for the first ACK/NACK group. If no carriers of a second subset of the carriers are activated for the wireless transceiver, then the first ACK/NACK group is also transmitted during a second transmission slot that is otherwise allocated to ACK/NACK information for a second subset of the carriers. In another method, first and second ACK/NACK groups corresponding to first and second subsets of carriers are each formed from a codebook comprising a DTX codeword indicating that no data transmission for the mobile station was detected for the corresponding subset of carriers.
