Buoyancy applied to the device 3 by the storage of the captured oxygen is measured with a digital scale 4 and a signal corresponding to the buoyancy is inputted into the microcomputer 6. This microcomputer 6 accurately calculates the polishing margin of the polished work W. When this margin becomes equal to the desired polishing margin from a keyboard 5, the device 7 is driven to pull up the work W from the soln. 1. The work W is accurately and easily polished.

A yoke required heretofore from the end part of the power transmission shaft 10 is thereby dispensed with, and a joint angle is imparted by the flexure of the thin wall part 17.

Next, a connected mandrel 10 is manufactured by detachably connecting a plurality of built-in yoke mandrels 1 with each other using connecting jigs 11 provided with engaging members 18 engaging with spider mounting holes 7 of the yokes 3. After that, while the connected mandrel 10 is moved in one direction, a fiber material impregnated with a resin is wound around the peripheral surface of the connected mandrel 10. After this is heated and cured, only an FRP layer 45 on the surface is cut by the unit of the built-in yoke mandrel 1 and, thereafter, the connecting jigs 11 are removed from the yokes 3.
