    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a natural rubber exerting various functions of a graft polymer while retaining excellent properties inherent in a natural rubber (e.g. properties as a damping material).
      SOLUTION: The nanomatrix-dispersed natural rubber comprises a grafted natural rubber wherein vinyl monomers are grafted onto the surface of deproteinized natural rubber particles. The nanomatrix-dispersed natural rubber is produced by deproteinizing a natural rubber latex, introducing radical active points onto the surface of rubber particles with a water-soluble radical initiator, adding a monomer to carry out graft copolymerization on the surface of the natural rubber particles, making the obtained latex into a film or a bulk form and subjecting it to a heat-treatment at a temperature ranging from (Tg)-20°C to (Tg)+30°C, provided that (Tg) is the glass transition temperature of a polymer forming a graft chain. In the nanomatrix-dispersed natural rubber, the natural rubber particles are connected to each other and dispersed layeredly in a matrix 1-100 nm thick formed by the graft chain.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nanomatrix-dispersed natural rubber having such peculiar phase-separated structure that natural rubber particles as the main component dispersed in fine matrix formed by graft chains as the minor component, having graft polymer properties as well as excellent properties inherent in natural rubber and widely usable in the medical field including condoms, gloves for operation and catheters and as domestic articles or the like.
      SOLUTION: The nanomatrix-dispersed natural rubber consists of a grafted natural rubber where vinyl monomers are grafted onto the surface of deproteinized natural rubber particles, produced by deproteinizing a natural rubber latex, introducing radical active points on the surface of rubber particles with a water-soluble radical initiator followed by addition of the vinyl monomer to carry out a graft copolymerization on the surface of the natural rubber particles, and subjecting the resultant latex to film formation. In this nanomatrix-dispersed natural rubber, the natural rubber particles are dispersed in a matrix 1-100 nm thick formed by the graft chains.
