    • Systems and methods for ensuring data integrity in a data processing system are disclosed. The method may include monitoring when data for a specified device is available for error correction code generation. A new error correction code may be generated in hardware for the data, based on the indicated size of the data. Detected errors may be corrected in software, based on the generated new error correction code. A first indication of the specified device, a second indication of the data and a third indication of a size of the data may be received during the monitoring. The method may also include indicating when the generating of the new error correction code for a specified number of accesses for at least a portion of the data is complete, and enabling or disabling the error correction code generation. The enabling and/or the disabling may be accomplished via an enable signal.

    • While the identification of acetylated lysine residues on proteins is well-known, the modification of lysine residues through propionylation and butyrylation is not very well understood. A method for the identification and mapping of propionylated and butyrylated lysine residues has been developed. Anti-acetyllysine antibody, normally used to affinity purify a protein mixture based on the presence of acetylated lysine, can also be used to affinity purity proteins having propionylated and butyrylated lysine residues due to the structural similarity. The method involves searching protein databases to locate mass spectrometry datasets for those proteins purified by anti-acetyllysine antibody. The located spectra are manually reviewed to identify those peptides having propionyllysine and butyryllysine residues. These identified peptides are synthesized, with the lysine modifications added at the appropriate positions. The synthesized proteins are then analyzed with mass spectrometry and the resultant spectra are compared to those located in the protein databases to confirm the location of the lysine modifications.

    • A network enabled computer receives connection profile information in a generic form and creates one or more native mode profiles to establish connections. By accepting profile information in a generic form, profile information can be readily provided from one or more ways, including from a policy server, through a user interface or from a third party application. The profile information can be provided with an order of precedence so that profile information from different sources may be combined appropriately. Additionally, the profile information may be provided in an extensible format to allow profile information to be distributed to multiple computers, even if some have different hardware or software configurations and are not programmed to recognize extensions of the profile information.

    • A method and system for controlling the provisioning of a device with information for accessing services of a wireless service provider via a wireless network is provided. The provisioning system initially stores automatic provisioning information on the device that includes the identification of wireless service providers that have the capability to automatically provision the device. When a user of the device wants to subscribe to a service of a service provider, the provisioning system requests an automatic provisioning service of the service provider to provide information describing available services and information needed to subscribe to those services. When the user selects a service and provides the needed information, the provisioning system retrieves provisioning information for the selected service from the service provider. The provisioning system stores the provisioning information on the device so that the device can then be used to access the selected service of the service provider.
