    • A parking brake system is provided in which a parking brake state is obtained by forward movement of a parking piston (33) in response to the action of a parking control fluid pressure, and a forward operating state of the parking piston (33) is mechanically locked by a lock mechanism (43). Moreover, an input member (23) of a brake mechanism (11) and the parking piston (33) are connected by coupling means (35), a lock piston (44) of the lock mechanism (43) moves toward one side in the axial direction when the parking piston (33) moves forward, and a locking part (46) provided at one end of the lock piston (44) engages from the rear with a retaining part (45) provided on a middle section of the coupling means (35) while straddling the middle section of the coupling means (35). This enables an automatic parking brake state to be obtained by a simple structure without consuming power.

    • An anti-lock controller controls the brake fluid pressure of a wheel brake to a pressure decreasing mode where a normally-opened electromagnetic valve is closed while a normally-closed electromagnetic valve is opened, a holding mode where the normally-opened electromagnetic valve is closed and the normally-closed electromagnetic valve is closed, and a pressure increasing mode where the normally-opened electromagnetic valve is opened while the normally-closed electromagnetic valve is closed. Then, in a duty pressure increasing mode which is corresponds to the pressure increasing mode, values of predetermined values D1, D2 which put a current value to be applied to the normally-opened electromagnetic valve in a relationship such as 100>D1>D2>0 if in the pressure decreasing mode, a current value resulting when the normally-opened electromagnetic valve is continuously turned on is 100, while a current value resulting when the normally-opened electromagnetic valve is turned off is 0 are repeated at predetermined time intervals.

    • A co-operative control system for a vehicle including a force distribution device for distributing the driving force or braking force between the right and left wheels or between the front and rear wheels, includes a first control means for controlling the operation of the force distribution device, an electric power steering device, having a motor for applying a steering assist torque to a vehicle steering system, and a second control means for calculating a motor control signal for driving the motor. The motor control signal is based on at least the steering torque detected by a steering torque detecting means. The first control means calculates a correction signal for correcting said motor control signal based on the distributed force generated by the force distribution device, the second control means drives the motor based on the corrected motor control signal obtained by correcting the motor control signal with the correction signal and the first control means stops the operation of the force distribution device when the electric power steering device or the second control means malfunctions.

    • With the method of the present invention, a detected value in the longitudinal acceleration-deceleration detector can be corrected for a gradient of a slope acting on the detector when the vehicle is traveling on a sloped road surface. Assuming that a vehicle is traveling on an upward slope or a downward slope, a value in a vertical acceleration-deceleration detector is detected. A determination is made as to whether the vehicle is traveling on the upward or downward slope using a corrected value which is closest to a pseudo-acceleration or deceleration based on wheel speeds. This enables a more accurate estimation of the longitudinal acceleration or deceleration by using the corrected value which is closest to the pseudo-acceleration or deceleration.
