In this state, a liquid is supplied into the first flow path and the liquid is discharged from the tip part of the boring pipe 40. Thereby, excavated sediment in the vicinity of the tip part of the boring pipe 40 is allowed to flow to the second flow path and is recovered by a sediment recovery system 70.

Subsequently, a diameter-enlarging skin plate 41, which is arranged on the inner peripheral side of the widening segment 25, and a shield jack 47, which is arranged inside the skin plate 41, are fixed to the end plate 31.
