    • An actuator assembly is used for breaking a crust that forms during the smelting of aluminium. The assembly (1) comprises a fluid-pressure- operated cylinder (2) in which works a piston (3) attached to a piston rod (4). The piston rod (4) has a piercing tip at its free end for breaking the crust. The piston (3) is adapted to be driven to a retracted position by supplying fluid to a front side (11) and to an extended position by supplying fluid to a rear side (10). The assembly 1 also includes sensing means (9) to determine when the piston (3) is in the extended position and cause it to return to its retracted position, and automatic retraction means (15) causing the piston (3) to move to the retracted position after a predetermined time if the extended position has not been reached following the supply of fluid to the rear side (10). The assembly may also include monitoring means to monitor the position of the piston (3), and retention means (63) for retaining the piston (3) in the retracted position.

    • According to the present invention, a hydraulic control apparatus for construction machinery comprises: hydraulic pumps (11, 12); first and second control valve units which control the flow directions of working oil discharged from the hydraulic pumps (11, 12) to supply the working oil to first and second work machines, respectively, and which control the degree of opening of flow channels which interconnect the first and second work machines and the hydraulic pumps (11, 12), respectively; and a control unit (70) which controls the first and second control valve units in accordance with operating signals inputted from first and second operating units. The control unit (70) determines whether the current work mode is a general work mode or a preferential work mode, and if the mode is determined to be a general work mode, calculates a first degree of opening of a normal channel in accordance with the operating signal inputted from the first operating unit and outputs the calculated first degree of opening of a normal channel to the first control valve unit, and if the mode is determined to be a preferential work mode, calculates a second degree of opening of a normal channel in accordance with the operating signal input from the second operating unit, outputs the calculated second degree of opening of a normal channel to the second control valve unit, and outputs a control signal to the second control valve unit such that the degree of opening of the second control valve unit is smaller than the first degree of opening of a normal channel, so as to preferentially ensure the flow of the working oil being supplied to the first work machine.

    • Hydraulic tilting device for tilting a cab of a vehicle between a driving position and a tilted position. The tilting device has a double-action hydraulic tilting cylinder (5) for tilting the cab, having a piston/piston rod assembly (8, 9) which forms in the cylinder space (7) a pull chamber (12), which, when hydraulic fluid is fed to it, draws in the piston/piston rod assembly, and a push chamber (13), which, when hydraulic fluid is fed to it, pushes out the piston/piston rod assembly. In addition, a lost-motion duct (30) is present in the ports (31, 32) emerging in the cylinder space, which lost-motion duct interconnects the pull chamber (12) and the push chamber (10) in a lost-motion mode of the tilting device. A hydraulically operated lost-motion valve (40) has a slide body, which is displaceable between a closed position, in which the first (42) and second (43) valve ports are closed off from each other, and an open position, in which the first (42) and second (43) valve port are interconnected. The lost-motion valve is provided with a spring means (48), which pressurizes the slide body in the direction of the closed position thereof.
