摘要： Apparatus and method for measuring the viscosity of a fluid by drawing a sample of the fluid through a first flow restrictor (24) and forcing the sample through a second flow restrictor (28) having flow restriction characteristics which are identical to the flow restriction characteristics of the first flow restrictor. The difference in pressures of the sample at the exit of the first flow restrictor and at the entrance to the second flow restrictor provides a measure of the viscosity of the fluid and may be used to vary the temperature of the fluid to control its viscosity.

摘要： A substantially constant viscosity of the liquid mixture at a given temperature is maintained in mixing two liquids with different viscosities, especially diesel oil and heavy fuel oil for supply to an engine. The liquid mixture constantly being prepared in a mixer (12) is taken through a heater (23). The viscosity of the heated mixture is measured in a viscosimeter (30) adapted for controlling the heating such that a substantially constant viscosity is maintained. Furthermore, the temperature of the heated mixture is measured, and the mixing ratio between both liquids is controlled in response to the temperature so that the temperature is maintained substantially constant.

摘要： The present invention is directed to mixers for viscometers and methods of using the same. Such inventions are applicable, for example, to industrial processes such as printing. One embodiment of the invention is directed to a viscosity control system including a viscosity sensor, a mixing element, a shaft fixedly attached to the mixing element, and an actuator interfacing with the viscosity sensor and the shaft. The annular mixing element is oscillatable about an axis lying in a plane tangent to a point on a wall of the mixing element. The shaft is centered about the axis. The actuator receives a signal from the viscosity sensor and rotates the shaft and the mixing element in an oscillating manner about the axis. In some embodiments, the shaft rotates through an angle of less than 360 degrees.
