    • A controllable stimulus system 100, a control device 110, an audio-visual source 150 and a method of controlling an audible and a visual stimulus are provided. The controllable stimulus system 100 comprises a control device 110 and an audio-visual source 50. The control device 110 provides an audio signal and comprises a source 112 of an input audio signal 116, a controller 120 and an audio output 124 which provides a combined audio signal 130. The controller 120 combines a lighting control signal 160 and the input audio signal 116 into the combined audio signal 130. The lighting control signal 116 indicates a required light emission by a light source. The audio-visual source 150 comprises an audio input 156, a splitter 152, an audio source 166 and a light source 154. The audio input 156 receives the combined audio signal 130. The splitter 152 splits the received combined audio signal 130 into an output audio signal 162 and the lighting control signal 160. The audio source 166 plays the output audio signal 162 and the light source 154 issues a light emission in response to the lighting control signal 160.

    • An illumination device (100) with wake-up and/or fall-asleep functionality comprises: at least one controllable light source (110); a control device (120) for controlling the light source (110). In a STEADY mode, colour and intensity of the output light are maintained constant at a steady colour value and a steady intensity value. In a WAKE-UP mode, the intensity of the output light is gradually increased from zero to the steady intensity value; in a FALL-ASLEEP mode, the intensity of the output light is gradually decreased from the steady intensity value to zero. The control device (120) comprises a user input (UI) for receiving a user input signal defining the steady intensity value. The control device (120) generates a control signal for the controllable light source (110) such as to cause the colour of the output light to travel a predetermined path in a colour space, independent of the steady intensity value.

    • Apparatuses and methods to operate a commute time function of a communications device are described herein. In one embodiment, the commute time function is automatically activated based on an event and is then performed by (i) determining an up-to-date commute time based on commute information and (ii) displaying or speaking the up-to-date commute time on the device. In one embodiment, triggered by and before the occurrence of a calendar event, a device obtains a current commute time (based on the commute information and based on current traffic conditions 1). In this embodiment, the device reschedules the calendar event based on the current commute time, by sending an update to the contacts with whom the user is to meet that indicates a change to the calendar event. Other embodiments are also described.
