    • The invention provides a luminescent lamp which comprises a tubular discharge vessel, a power source to maintain a discharge within the discharge vessel and a controller, arranged to control, during operation of the luminescent lamp, the power provided to the tubular discharge vessel by the power source. The lamp further comprises a luminescent material coating, having a coating surface with a coating surface area, coated on the tubular discharge vessel and an optionally optical filter, having a transmission for light emitted by the luminescent material, and having an optical filter area. One or more of(a) the luminescent material is arranged to show different luminescent colours over the coating surface area and (b) the optional optical filter is arranged to show different wavelength dependencies for the transmission over the optical filter area. By varying the power coupled into the discharge tube by means of the controller, the different luminescent materials are addressed (with concomitant different luminescences), respectively, and/or the different optical filters are addressed, respectively. This allows dimming of the luminescent lamp along the BBL.

    • The invention relates to a method for making a thin finished product to be formed by deformation that combines strength with resistance to a highly corrosive environment. The method comprises forming a sheet of stainless steel with a microstructure consisting predominantly of ferrite, austenite, martensite or a mixture thereof, with a thickness of less than 3 mm, to a three dimensional semi finished product, treating said semi finished product with a nitrogen-containing atmosphere at a temperature of between 1000 °C and 1200 °C during a time and under a nitrogen pressure, sufficient to saturate the product through the thickness with a nitrogen content between a lower limit of 0.3 wt% and an upper limit that is provided by the beginning of nitride separation, cooling down said product at such a rate and nitrogen pressure that nitride separation is avoided, and subsequently machining the nitrogen saturated semi- finished product to the finished product. The invention further relates to a rotary shaving assembly prepared by the method of the invention.

    • The invention relates to synchronizing settings in a home control system such as settings for lighting scenes in a lighting system with a plurality of light units. A basic idea of the invention is to synchronize settings such as lighting scene settings in a home control system with a network of devices such as light units and multipe control devices for controlling the network devices. An embodiment of the invention provides a device (Sync) for synchronizing settings in a home control system comprising a memory (12) for storing settings of one or more of devices (L1-L9) of the home control system, a communication unit (14) for receiving signals (16) from and transmitting signals (18) to control devices (RC3- RC 4) of the home control system, and a processor (10) for synchronizing stored settings in the home control system upon receipt of a signal (16) from a control device (RC3, RC4) of the home control system by transmitting a synchronization signal (18). Thus, all control devices may have access to all settings. Particularly, a user may control all settings with one control devices and does not have to remember which settings are stored in which control device.
