    • The "command rod" is a mechanical part for internal combustion engine of pistons that consists of a straight arm structural symmetrical profile, fully hard, having one tip with a hole properly structured to a piston pin (3) transpose and other tip with a closed gear profile (6) with internal teeth, formed by arcs and straight segments united tangentially and conveniently calculated to best meet piston reactions. For the application of "command rod", traditional crankshaft is replaced by a major shaft which will rotate inside the "command rod gear". A rotating swivel clamp (9) keeps the internal main shaft (7) pressed at the gear profile (6) of the "command rod". The swivel clamp (9), attached to the inner main shaft (7), embraces the profile of the "command rod gear" for its outer face through the pins (8) of the clamp (9) against the inner shaft (7), keeping them permanently engaged.

    • An internal combustion engine with improved efficiency provides continuous variable displacement and/or compression ratio tuning to one of a number of fuel types to be used by the engine. By varying displacement without changing the compression ratio, the engine can be tuned to operate on a given fuel more efficiently according to the load demands on the engine. By varying the compression ratio, the engine can be converted for use with the most economical fuel type available. The engine can be of a radial configuration with an offset crankshaft and a common cam throw-piece that can be positioned on the crankshaft to change the stroke and/or compression ratio affected by one or an array of pistons. An onboard electronic control can be used to detect engine efficiency, change engine displacement and/or compression ratio, change fuel supply, and compute fuel economy.

    • An engine balancing apparatus has a housing assembly mounted to a vehicle engine. The housing assembly has spaced apart endwalls and two parallel extending support shafts connected to the endwalls. A first counterweight is rotatably mounted concentrically about a first of the support shafts. The first counterweight has a first gear, a lead filled first void and a phenolic filled second void diametrically opposed from said first void. A second counterweight is rotatably mounted concentrically about a second of said support shafts. The second counterweight has a second gear, a lead filled third void and a phenolic filled fourth void diametrically opposed from the third void. The second gear in is driven engagement with the first gear for counter rotation therewith. The first support shaft is positioned relative to the crankshaft of the engine for drivingly engaging the first gear. Each of the counterweights has a center of gravity offset from an axis of rotation whereby as the counterweights counter rotate an inertial force is generated which has a canceling effect on inertial forces generated by operation of the vehicle engine.

    • According to one aspect of the invention there is provided a vibratory apparatus. The vibratory apparatus is comprised of a housing, an eccentric mass, a crankshift, a first member, a second member and an operating mechanism for rotating the crankshaft. The crankshaft is rotatably mounted in the housing and the crankshaft is operatively connected to the eccentric mass. The first member is hollow and has an inner space and outer surface. The first member is received by the eccentric mass. The second member is received within the inner space of the first member. The second member is connected to the crankshaft and the first member is allowed radial movement about the second member along a first axis. A liquid forms a lubricating layer between the first member and the eccentric mass.
