    • A lock assembly including a latchbolt (44) that may be effectively lengthened to accommodate varied backset distances for doors. The lock assembly may include a housing (90), a latchbolt including an attachment member (132), an extension member (200), a retractor element (95), and an operator (30). The extension member may be mounted to the attachment member to extend from the latchbolt for effective lengthening of the latchbolt. The retractor element, operatively responsive to the operator, is disposed within the housing for linear reciprocating movement to move the latchbolt, and is selectively engageable with the attachment member or with the extension member. The extension member defines a recess adapted to receive the attachment member. A latch case (130) may receive the latchbolt, and a cylindrical sleeve (220) may receive the latch case and the latchbolt when the extension member is in use to increase the backset dimension.

    • The invention concerns a fail safe lock (1), in particular for an elevating device landing door (2), comprising within a housing (16): a bolt (10) provided with a core (200) capable of co-operating with a striker (201) integral with the door leaf; a mechanism for moving said bolt (10) towards an extreme locking position wherein it is engaged in a locking part (20) integral with the door (2), said moving mechanism being controlled by the core (200); an operating arm for controlling the withdrawal of the bolt (10) towards an extreme withdrawn position; and a mechanism for limiting the torque exerted on a connecting rod associated with said operating arm. The lock (1) further comprises a mechanism (7, 14) for adjusting the bolt (10) engaging position.

    • A latch (10) includes a base (12), a drive shaft (100) and cam (102), and a handle (110) attached pivotally to the drive shaft (100). The handle (110) is moveable between a closed position, a pop-up position, and an open position. A slide plate (24) is attached slidably to the base (12) and engaged with the cam (102). A swivel arm (52) is attached pivotally to the base (12) and the slide plate (24). A bolt assembly (66) is attached to the swivel arm (52), and a plunger (32) is mounted within the base (12). In its closed position, the handle (110) engages the plunger (32) to engage a switch (36) and the bolt assembly (66) engages a structure. In the handle's (110) pop-up position, the plunger (32) moves to a retracted position and disengages the switch (36). When the handle (1 10) is moved to the open position, the drive shaft (100) and cam (102) are rotated so that the slide plate (24) slides and the swivel arm (52) pivots to swing the bolt assembly (66) away from the structure.
