摘要： A system for providing re-usable safety support fences and fall restraints for the construction industry. The system primarily comprises a disposable base which is welded to an I-beam or otherwise permanently attached to a floor or roof and a removable support post that screws into the disposable base. The support posts can form the posts of a safety fence through which steel cables are threaded to form the fence. On the other hand, a fall arrestor, comprising an eye hook onto which a construction or maintenance worker on the perimeter of a building may attach, can also be screwed into the permanently mounted disposable base. Additional embodiments for use with concrete construction instead of steel I-beams are disclosed. The basis for the invention is inexpensive disposable bases which remain an integral part of the structure after completion coupled with removable and re-useable post devices which screw into the disposable bases.

摘要： The present invention pertains to extension arm apparatuses (100, 700) that are adapted to support user devices (116) throughout a range of positions. A given apparatus may include one or more arms (106, 110) that position the user device remotely from a support position. An extension and retraction device (140, 162) such as a gas cylinder is received within each arm (106, 110), and provides a force to support the user device (116) as the arm is placed into.a given position. A variable force clevis (142, 164) is connected to the extension/retraction device within the arm (106, 110). The variable force clevis (142, 164) is connected to a pair of locations in the arm as well. As the arm (106, 110) moves, for instance up or down, the variable force clevis (142, 164) rotates within the arm (106, 110) and dynamically adjusts the force provided by the extension/retraction device (140, 162). Removable and/or pivotable covers (718, 720, 722, 724, 726, 728) are provided for managing cables (716) of the user device (116) attached to the extension arm (700).
