摘要： Optical radiation sources (206, 208, 300) functioning on different optical bands radiate on different optical bands and focus optical radiation on a region (210) in a web (10) surface as pulses in such a manner that illumination areas of the pulses overlap on the plane of the web (10). At most one optical radiation band is focused on the web (10) from the direction of the normal. The spatial intensity distribution of at least one optical band differs from the uniform distribution and the intensity distributions of at least two different optical bands differ from one another in a predetermined manner. A camera (202) forms still images of the web (10) surface region (210) on each optical radiation band. An image-processing unit (204) determines the surface topography of the web (10) on the basis of the images. In addition, a controller (126) may control the paper manufacturing process on the basis of the determined surface topography.

The headbox (10) comprises a flow duct for stock suspension or separate flow ducts placed one above the other, which flow duct(s) extend(s) from the inlet header (11) of the headbox (10) into its slice channel (14), the stock suspension jet (J) being discharged from the slice opening (16) of said slice channel onto the forming wire or into the forming gap formed between forming wires. Support structures of the industrial roller are attached to a frame by a plurality of fastening means. Support reactions of the industrial roller are defined on basis of said samples and operation of the industrial roller and/or the felt is estimated based on said determined support reactions.
