摘要： The present invention relates to a process for preparing a purified benzene composition from a crude hydrocarbon stream containing at least 10% by volume of benzene comprising the following steps: a) subjecting the crude hydrocarbon stream and the further benzene containing stream recycled in step d) to a solvent based extraction so as to produce a benzene enriched aromatic stream and a benzene depleted non-aromatic stream, b) subjecting the benzene enriched aromatic stream obtained in step a) to a hydrodesulfurization so as to obtain a desulfurized aromatic stream, c) subjecting the desulfurized aromatic stream obtained in step b) to a distillation so as to produce a purified benzene stream and a further benzene containing stream having a benzene concentration of between less than 100% by weight and the azeotropic benzene concentration, and d) at least partially recycling the further benzene containing stream obtained in step c) to step a).

摘要： Processes and apparatus for making xylenes and phenol are described. Phenol and alkyl phenols are separated from coal derived liquid. The phenol is separated from the alkyl phenols. The alkyl phenols can be reacted with aromatics such as benzene and toluene to make xylenes. The xylenes and other aromatics are then separated from the phenol and alkyl phenols. Para-xylene is separated and recovered using a xylene separation process, and meta-xylene and ortho-xylene are optionally converted to para-xylene through an isomerization reaction.

摘要： Embodiments provide a method and apparatus for recovering components from a hydrocarbon feedstock. According to at least one embodiment, the method includes supplying a hydrocarbon feedstock to an oxidation reactor, wherein the hydrocarbon feedstock is oxidized in the presence of a catalyst under conditions sufficient to selectively oxidize sulfur compounds and nitrogen compounds present in the hydrocarbon feedstock, separating the hydrocarbons, the oxidized sulfur compounds, and the oxidized nitrogen compounds by solvent extraction, collecting a residue stream that includes the oxidized sulfur compounds and the oxidized nitrogen compound, supplying the residue stream to a fluid catalytic cracking unit, and recycling liquid products produced by the fluid catalytic cracking unit to the oxidation reactor to selectively oxidize sulfur compounds in the liquid products, the portion of the liquids products including at least one of light cycle oils and heavy cycle oils.
