    • A method and apparatus are provided for heating a solid material and dispensing the material as a liquid. A central housing (49) has an inlet, dispensing orifice (43) and flow passage (51) extending through the central housing (49) for passing the material from the inlet to the dispensing orifice (43). A susceptor (53) and induction coil (75) are disposed within the flow passage (51) for immersion within the material after it is liquefied. The susceptor (53) includes a conically shaped flow section (55) which extends across the flow passage (51), and a plurality of flow ports (57) for passing the material. The susceptor (53) further includes a cylindrical section (59) which extends downstream from the flow section (55) for receiving the material from the flow section (55) and passing material to the dispensing orifice (43). The induction coil (75) is aligned with and spaced downstream from the flow section (55) of the susceptor (53), surrounding part of the susceptor (53) for electromagnetically inducing electric currents to flow within the flow section (55).

    • A drinks dispenser suitable for holding a plurality of wine boxes, for example, is provided with a refrigeration unit (100) facilitating the cooling of wine dispensed from each of said plurality of wine boxes. The unit (100) comprises a generally upright cylindrical direct expansion tank (101) having a chamber (102) filled with refrigerant which exhausts as vapour through port (106) to be returned at the same pressure in liquid form through inlet port (115) of capillary tube (107). Temperature within chamber (102) is sensed by a thermostat sensor (not shown) inserted into the upper extend of blind bore tube (111). Liquid is chilled by passing through one of a plurality of cooling conduits (114, 115, 117) the interior bores of which are isolated from the refrigerant in chamber (102). Chilling liquid will inevitably lead to a rise in temperature of the refrigerant within chamber (102) and once a predetermined temperature is sensed a refrigeration pump associated with the direct expansion tank (100) will be actuated.

    • The glue gun system includes a gun (100) having a barrel (102). A cartridge (200) can be removably placed in the barrel. The cartridge has an open central passage (204) to accept a glue stick (10) and a tip (202) to dispense the glue. Once received into the barrel the cartridge is heated, melting the glue therein. Additional cartridges can be maintained in a heated state by a heating stand (300). Thus, after one glue stick is used, a second can be immediately installed and used. An insulated tab (210) allows for the easy handling of the cartridges.

The drinking liquid is thereby maintained at a predetermined temperature by the temperature of the coolant and the effect of the above-mentioned concentric arrangement of drinking liquid delivery line (11), coolant line (14) and insulator tubing (15).

    • The invention relates to the field of hot melt dispensing, and in particular, dispensers capable of: unloading a drum of solid hot melt into a supply reservoir; liquifying the hot melt to a dispensable state; and dispensing the liquified hot melt through a pumping arrangement. The prior art fails to address the problem of preventing liquified hot melt from splashing around the perimeter of the drum when the solid hot melt is deposited into the heated supply reservoir. Splashing of liquified hot melt presents a burn hazard to operators and a possible source of contamination of the hot melt when the splashed liquid is redrawn around the perimeter of the drum. The invention solves this problem by providing a melting grid (35a) above the heated supply reservoir (35) to catch the solid melt after it is deposited from drum (22) in heated hopper (21).

    • A beverage cooling system has an ice storage bin having a mechanical agitator disposed therein.
