    • An improved bottled water station (10) includes a removable reservoir module (14) for simple drop-in installation into a station housing (16) and to cooperate with station components to provide a selected plurality of water supplies at different temperatures for individual dispensing. The preferred reservoir module (14) comprises a lightweight reservoir (46) of molded plastic of the like having an open upper end (48) for receiving and supporting an inverted water bottle (12), and an internal baffle plate (52) which divides the interior of the reservoir (46) into upper and lower chambers (54 and 56). A fitting (62) on a lower end of the reservoir (46) permits sealed reception of an improved chiller probe (32) into the lower chamber (56), wherein the chiller probe (32) is provided as part of a refrigeration system (28) on the station housing (16). In addition, a fitting (74) on the lower end of the reservoir (46) interconnects water from the upper reservoir chamber (54) with a heated water tank (90) on the station housing (16).

    • An improved valve assembly (14) is provided for use in dispensing liquids, particularly such as flavored syrup and the like in a soft drink dispenser station (10). The valve assembly (14) comprises a compact unit adapted to mount directly into the neck (16) of a bottle (12) containing a flavor syrup, wherein the bottle (12) is designed for inverted installation into the dispenser station (10) with the neck (16) seated within a mating support socket (36). The valve assembly (14) includes parallel dispense and vent ports (52, 54), together with a dispense valve (62) for regulating syrup outflow and a check valve (70) for permitting air inflow. The dispense valve (62) comprises the armature of a solenoid actuator, the coil (80) of which is integrated with the support socket (36) and adapted for connection to an electrical current for displacing the dispense valve (62) to an open position and thereby permit gravity syrup flow from the bottle (12). The dispensed syrup volume is replaced by air drawn into the bottle (12) through the vent port (54) and an associated vent tube (50, 60) which projects a short distance into the bottle interior. The check valve (70), such as a duckbill type check valve, is mounted on the vent tube (50, 60) to permit low resistance air inflow into the bottle (12) while preventing syrup backflow through the vent tube (50, 60).

    • An actuator probe assembly (10) is provided for a bottled water station. The probe assembly (10) comprises an inner support funnel (34) and an outer adapter sleeve (42) retained by a probe fitting (40) in assembled relation with a cover plate (26) for mounting onto a station housing (22) in a position over an upwardly open water reservoir (20). The support funnel (34) extends downwardly through a central opening (28) in the cover plate (26) and defines a cup-shaped receiver structure for receiving an inverted water bottle (12), with the probe fitting at a lower end of the support funnel (34). The adapter sleeve (42) is carried about the support funnel (34) and includes an outwardly radiating diaphragm member (66) for closing the top of the reservoir (20) when the cover plate (26) is installed onto the station housing (22). A pair of annular seals (58, 68) located respectively on the support funnel (34) and on the diaphragm member (66) sealingly engage upper and lower surfaces of the cover plate (26).

    • An improved bottle cap and valve assembly are provided in a bottled water station (10), wherein the station (10) includes an actuator probe (26) for engaging a bottle cap (20) on an inverted water bottle (12) installed onto the bottled water station (10). The actuator probe (26) includes a probe head (68) for opening a bottle cap valve member (24), thereby permitting downward water flow from the bottle (12). Dual flow paths formed through the actuator probe (26) permit smooth downward water flow through one flow path, substantially without glugging, to an underlying station reservoir (16) simultaneously with upward air flow through the other flow path from the reservoir (16) to the bottle interior. In the preferred form, the valve member (24) is integrally molded as part of the bottle cap (20) and configured to be severed therefrom upon engagement with the probe head (68). The preferred probe head (26) captures and retains the severed valve member (24) in a position for slide-fit sealing re-engagement with the bottle cap (20) when the bottle (12) is removed from the station (10).

    • A bottled water station (10) includes an improved dispenser faucet (18) for use in dispensing chilled water from a station reservoir (14) wherein the improved faucet is designed to substantially eliminate formation of condensation on externally exposed surfaces of the faucet structure.
