    • The present invention relates to a module for a modular pressure distribution system comprising a plurality of modules. The module comprises a frame (60, 60', 61, 61 ') defining an outer periphery and a space defined within the outer periphery and a pressure chamber for receiving a beverage container, the pressure chamber being arranged within the space. The module further comprises a first type connector and a second type connector positioned at the outer periphery. A fluid path establishes fluid communication from the first type connector to the second type connector. The first type connector is connectable to a connector of the second type connector, and the first type connector is adapted to receive a pressure-fluid from a pressure-fluid source. The second type connector is adapted to transfer the pressure-fluid to a first type connector of a neighbouring module. The module still further comprises a third type connector in fluid communication with the first type connector and supplying the pressure-fluid to the pressure chamber.

    • An improved ice chest and cold plate apparatus (10) for use in beverage dispensers. The ice chest and cold plate apparatus (10) includes an ice storage container (12) having an open top (14), a bottom (16), and four sidewalls (18, 20, 22 and 24). A cold plate heat exchanger (26) is affixed to the outer surface of the bottom of the ice storage container (12) with a thermally conductive adhesive (30). The cold plate includes a plurality of cooling circuits (28) comprising tubular coils (82) extending in a serpentine path and die-cast in aluminum to form an aluminum block. The improved ice chest and cold plate apparatus (10) is simple, less expensive and easier to manufacture than prior art ice chests with cold plate.

Water flows through the pre-chill coil (204) prior to flowing through the carbonator. Various methods of converting existing ice-chilled beverage dispensers including installing a pre-chill coil proximate a store of ice in the bin. Another method includes diverting the flow of water from a water chill coil to the carbonator, instead of a plain water valve. Also, the tubing from the water chill coil may be branched from the water chill coil to the plain water valve and the carbonator.
