The ship propulsion device of the present invention includes a screw propeller rotated by a driving force to generate a propulsion force and a steering axis transmitting a manipulation force for changing direction, and comprises: a guide pipe disposed at one side of a ship at a position lower than sea level for passing sea water in the direction of movement and mounted with a screw propeller inside an end thereof; an inlet part through which the water introduced via the guide pipe flows in; an outlet part connected to the steering axis for discharging the introduced water and rotating forward or backward; and a steering means comprised of a cylindrical rotation-side wall part forming both side walls of the inlet part and the outlet part, wherein the cylindrical rotation-side wall part is disposed in the shape of a ring and linked with the rotation of the outlet part and the length thereof is changed due to the selective overlapping of a plurality of folding plates.
