    • The twine cutter (78) includes an anvil (114) and swingable knife (96) on opposite sides of the path of travel of the taut twine (76) so that when the knife (96) swings into cutting engagement with the anvil (114), the twine (76) is severed. The anvil (114) preferably presents a cylindrical cutting surface having circumferential V-shaped grooves (116) which deflect the twine (76) around the knife (96) when the knife (96) swings into engagement with the anvil (114) for enhancing the cutting action of the twine cutter (78).

    • A cutting mat (114) comprises a cutting mat body (122) and a lock assembly arranged to secure the cutting mat to a rotary anvil (102).
