    • An insert (10) for an opening in a base (20) includes, a housing (12) having a peripheral side wall (18) defining an interior space (24). The peripheral side wall (18) includes at least one latch member (90) having a latching position. The latch member (90) engages the base (20) to secure the housing (12) in the opening when the latch member (90) is in the latching position.     • A connector device (30) is provided for a curtain wall system (20) of the type having structural members (M) secured to the building framing to define frames to support glazing panels (21). The glazing panels (21) each have a sash (22,23) by which they are secured to the frames of structural members (M) to form an outer wall portion of a building. The curtain wall system (20) has connector devices (30) securing one of the glazing panels (21) to the frames of structural members (M). The connector device (30) comprises a keeper (32) secured to a frame, and a latch mechanism (31) secured opposite the keeper (32) on the sash (22,23). The latch mechanism (31) has a latch bolt (33) automatically displaceable to a locking position upon contact with the keeper (32). The keeper (32) and the latch mechanism (31)cooperate in the locking position to lock the glazing panel (21) to the frame in a secured position. A method for installing the connector device (30) is also provided.
