    • An apparatus for mixing a first fluid into a flow path (44) of a second fluid, said apparatus having a chamber (12), which encloses the flow path and exhibits a first inlet (13) for receiving the second fluid, a second inlet (15) arranged downstream of the first inlet for receiving the first fluid, as well as an outlet arranged downstream of the second inlet for discharging a mixture of the first fluid and the second fluid, said flow path extending from the first inlet to the outlet and said second inlet opening into the flow path, a throttle body (29), which is pivotally arranged inside the chamber for controlling the flow area of the flow path, and pivoting means (50, 51) for pivoting the throttle body for said controlling of the flow area. According to the invention, the pivoting means is adapted to pivot the throttle body so that the flow area decreases with a decreasing flow rate of the second fluid and increases with an increasing flow rate of the second fluid, in order to maintain the flow velocity of the second fluid at the second inlet within a predetermined range.

    • A chemical injection system for use in a vehicle wash system having a single spray arch that distributes a plurality of various chemicals onto a vehicle during the wash process. The chemical injection system includes a high pressure supply manifold (20) formed from stainless steel that receives a high pressure supply of inlet water. The supply manifold receives a plurality of individual chemical injectors (26) that are each connected (62) to a supply of one or more chemicals. Each of the chemical injectors (26) is formed from a thermoplastic material and is separately insertable into the high pressure supply manifold (20). The flow of water through the chemical injectors creates a Venturi effect that pulls the chemical agent into the water supply for distribution downstream through the spray arch.

    • A fluid mixing device (10) has an inlet passageway (16) for connection to a primary fluid supply, an outlet passageway (18); and at least two separate venturi passageways (24, 26) each connected between the inlet (16) and outlet (18) passageways. Each venturi passageway (24, 26) has a throat portion (20), a first venturi inlet connected to the throat portion of the first venturi passageway (24) and a second venturi inlet connected to the throat portion of the second venturi passageway (26). The first and second venturi inlets are connected to supplies (28, 30) of two different secondary fluids for mixing into the primary fluid, a first one of the secondary fluids being of lower viscosity than the second. The outlet passageway (18) is spaced a predetermined distance downstream of the venturi inlets to prevent substantial backflow of the first secondary fluid mixture into the second venturi passageway prior to mixing together of the two streams in the outlet passageway.
