    • There is disclosed a cartridge for a portable electronic device power system configured as a flat, prismatic, air-breathing zinc-air battery comprising (a) an anode assembly having a structural backbone, current collectors, and a gel solution comprising a mixture of amalgamated zinc powder, aqueous potassium hydroxide and a gelling agent, (b) a porous separator sheet, and (c) an air-breathing cathode having an electrode impregnated with reductive catalyst, and (d) a serialized electrical connectivity path having low ohmic resistance characteristics. More specifically, there is disclosed a prismatic format, flat rectangular disposable primary battery having two or more zinc-air batteries connected in series, wherein each zinc air battery comprises: (a) an anode assembly having a structural backbone, current collectors, and a gel solution comprising a mixture of amalgamated zinc powder, aqueous potassium hydroxide and a gelling agent, (b) a porous separator sheet, and (c) a catalytically active oxygen-reductive cathode.

    • A power supply system for a portable electronic device is disclosed. The power supply system includes a number of battery cells distributed between a number of structural support members of a housing of the portable electronic device. The battery cells of the power supply can be separated so that they can be individually installed between the structural support members of the housing. After installing the battery cells a battery busbar of the power supply system can be subsequently slid through openings defined by the structural support members so that the battery busbar can electrically couple together battery cells separated by structural support members. The battery busbar can also be electrically coupled to a battery management unit of the power supply system, which can also be separated from the battery cells by a structural support member.

    • The invention includes a device (15) designed to contain at least one button cell battery (6), where the device (15) includes at least one contact spring (7) with at least another contact surface (5a), designed to provide electrical contact to another conducting track (3) on a circuit board (1). The contact spring (7) also includes at least a first contact surface (4a) designed to provide electrical contact with the other battery terminal (6b). The first battery terminal (6a) and a first conducting track (2) on the circuit board (1 ) include a joint contact area. The device (15) includes at least one holder item (9) with first items, which first items are designed to fix the circuit board (1) and the device also includes other items, which other items are designed to fix the contact spring / the contact springs (7) in the holder item (9). With the invention it is achieved that it is thus possible to achieve a very compact product design since the batteries (6) are situated very close to the circuit board (1). Furthermore, the solution ensures easy mounting and easy access for changing the batteries (6) when the product is opened.
