    • An improved bulk vending machine coin mechanism (100) and counter (200) combination is provided. In all of the embodiments, the combination coin mechanism and counter comprises a coin mechanism (100) designed to be partially received into an opening in a bulk vending machine (10), having a selectively rotatable cam (140) having an eccentrically shaped portion. All of the coin counters are attached to a portion of the coin mechanism inside of the bulk vending machine, and each has a numeric display (210). A first embodiment has a pivotally mounted switch (225) connected to the numeric display. A second embodiment has a reed-switch (330) connected to the display and a pivotally mounted magnet arm (336), in place of the pivotal switch. A third embodiment has a reed-switch (440), and a fourth embodiment has an inductive coil (540), mounted on the bracket (420, 520) so as to bring the rotation of the eccentric portion of the cam proximate to the reed-switch and/or inductive coil.

    • An improved bulk vending machine coin mechanism and counter combination (10) is provided. The counter/combination has a coin counter (200) attached to a portion of a coin mechanism (100). The counter comprises a numeric display (21) and a contact switch assembly (230), comprising a first pair of spaced-apart wires (236 and 238) at a first location of the switch, connected to the numeric display by a lead wire (241) and to a capacitor by another lead wire (243), a second pair of space-apart wires (242 and 244) at a second location, connected at least to the capacitor by yet another lead wire (247), and a selectively rotatable element (260) having a metal strip (266) attached thereto. When the selectively rotatable element (260) rotates, it brings the metal strip first in contact with the first pair of spaced-apart wires and then in contact with the second pair of spaced-apart wires, thereby causing the counter to advance one sequential count.
