    • A water meter having an electrical counter with an intermittently driving mechanism comprises of a meter case (1). An input pipe (2) and an output pipe (3) are provided on the lower part of the case, and a rotor (5) is provided within it. The output shaft of the rotor is magnetically coupled to the second intermediate gearing via the first intermediate gearing. The second intermediate gearing is connected with the driving mechanism of the electrical counter. Said driving mechanism of the electrical counter is composed of plural actuating elements and actuated elements represented various decades. Furthermore the actuating element and actuated element of the same decade are jointed to a whole unit. Both the actuating element and actuated element of the lowest decade counter device are the first stage gear of the second intermediate gearing. The actuated element of the next lower decade counter device is the final stage gear of the second intermediate gearing. The highest decade counter device only has an actuated element. The plural actuating elements and actuated elements whole or partially are mounted with resistor plates and a reading device can detect the resistance value. Compared with the prior art , the water meter according to present invention can reduce the driving torque, improve the meter accuracy and lower the cost.
