摘要： The present invention relates to a non-invasive, specific and rapid diagnostic method of Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) in a subject said method comprising the step of measuring the level of cytokine (IL-18 or IL-1 beta) secreted by immune primary cells (or cell death level of these cells) obtained from said subject, which have been beforehand treated with a Protein Kinase C (PKC) inhibitor, and optionally beforehand treated with a NF-kB activator such as LPS. Inventors show based on the extensive study of the inflammasome process of the monocytes, that PKC superfamily inhibitors trigger inflammasome activation in monocytes from FMF patients while they are not sufficient to do so in monocytes from healthy donors (HD) or from patient having hyperimmunoglobulinemia D syndrome (HIDS). Using cytokine release quantification or determination of real time cell death kinetics, inventors demonstrate that PKC superfamily inhibitors can discriminate FMF patients from HD or from patients with systemic inflammation from other aetiologies. These results thus set-up the basis for the development of a rapid functional specific diagnostic test for FMF. Methods of treatment are disclosed.

摘要： The present invention relates to methods for treating an open wound. The levels of certain cytokines in serum and wound effluent from a human subject with an open wound are compared to cytokine levels in persons whose wounds were closed successfully or failed to close. The wound is surgically closed if the cytokines levels and wound history of the human subject are favorable. Alternatively, the wound is left open and additional biological samples are analyzed at a later date.

In other embodiments, methods, compositions, and systems are provided for detecting a biomarker in a sample from a subject that has been treated with an IL-17 (or IL-13) inhibitor or IL-17 (or IL-13) receptor inhibitor, where the biomarker is SAA, LCN2, or YKL-40, and where at least one action is performed, such as identifying elevated levels of the biomarker in the biological sample and treating the subject with an IL-17 (or IL-13) inhibitor and/or IL-17 (or IL-13) receptor inhibitor.

According to the present invention, when interleukin 12 receptor β2 is used as a biomarker for vascular disease, in particular, myocardial infarction or unstable angina, vascular disease, of which diagnosis has been performed only by angiography, can be diagnosed using blood in a rapid non-invasive economic manner. Accordingly, the early diagnosis of vascular disease is possible, since the disease has been diagnosed based on subjective symptoms after the appearance of ischemic symptoms with development of the disease. The promise of early diagnosis, prevention and treatment is realized.
