    • The present invention relates to a water-saver faucet to prevent wastage of water by allowing the user to pre-measure and use the desired quantity of water. The water saver faucet has a spout integral with faucet body. A knob is attached to a sliding shaft situated at the front end of the faucet body. A water pipeline is attached to other end of the faucet body. Seal assemblies are provided within the faucet body for sealing or releasing the flow of water. A graduated measuring vessel, attached to the faucet body, enables the user to directly pre-measure the quantity of water that will flow out of the water saver faucet. An air vent valve, provided on top of the graduated measuring vessel, facilitates the in/out flow of water through the graduated measuring vessel. An adopter facilitates the assembly of the graduated measuring vessel and the faucet body.

    • A calibration system includes an acoustic wave gas sensor array, and a delivery device adapted to eject a measured quantity of a liquid calibrant to the gas sensor array. The delivery device includes a connector adapted for connection to an air supply source, a reservoir adapted to store a supply of the liquid material, an outlet arranged for placement adajacent to the gas sensor array, a dosing chamber sized to define and store a measured quantity of the calibrant, a conduit disposed between the dosing chamber and the reservoir and arranged to provide flow communication therebetween, a portion of the conduit arranged to be responsive to a pressure gradient within the dosing chamber over a predetermined time interval to thereby prevent flow from the dosing chamber toward the reservoir during the predetermined time period, and a valve mechanism adapted to apply the pressure gradient to the dosing chamber over the predetermined time interval.

    • A shuttle container (2) is used in conjunction with a dispenser (22) to receive a metered dose of a liquid from a reservoir (26). The dispenser (22) includes a metering chamber which is filled and emptied by a pair of valves (43 and 58) operated by a common shaft (40). The shuttle container (2) has a locating sleeve (12) which engages with a locating slot (36) in the dispenser (22) to axially align the shuttle container (2) with the dispenser. The shuttle (2) carries a spigot (14) engage the shaft (40) to effect a discharge of liquid into the shuttle container (2). The collar (6) of the shuttle container (2) has a pair of dogs (8) which engage respective slots (38) in the outer circumference of the dispenser (22). Before the dogs (8) can engage the slots (38), the profiled end of the spigot (14) must engage a matingly profiled recess in the shaft (40). Before the shaft (40) can be displaced, it must be rotated to move a projection (52) on the shaft out of alignment with an abutment (50). The slots (38) guide the dogs (8) to achieve the required angular and axial displacement of the shaft (40) to release it from the locking action of the abutment (50) then displace it to operate the valves (43 and 58) to effect the dispensing of the metered dose into the shuttle container (2).
