The multiphase separation system is configured to feed a multiphase fluid into feed lines within the multiphase separation system, wherein the feed lines consist of an upper line (405), a middle line (408), and a lower line (406). The upper line is configured to flow a first stream substantially including oil into an oil section of a control volume (422). The middle line is configured to flow a second stream substantially including an oil/water emulsion into an oil/water emulsion section of the control volume. The lower line is configured to flow a third stream substantially including water into a water section of the control volume. The control volume is configured to adjust fluid flow rate at an outlet (416, 420, 418), wherein the oil section, the water section, and the oil/water emulsion section each commingle at different heights of the control volume.

The produced water is typically subjected to a pre-treatment process (30). After pre-treatment, the produced water is directed to an evaporator (34) that evaporates at least some of the produced water and produces steam and an evaporator blowdown. The evaporator blowdown is directed to a dual stage crystallizer (50) that concentrates the evaporator blowdown.

摘要： A process is provided for treating produced water resulting from an oil recovery operation. Produced water is subjected to a softening process wherein a caustic or other softening reagent is added to the produced water to increase the pH of the produced water. Downstream of softening, there is provided an evaporator for evaporating at least a portion of the produced water and producing steam and a concentrated brine. At least a portion of the concentrated brine is recycled upstream of the evaporator and mixed with the produced water and the softening reagent to enhance the softening process.

摘要： A system and method for improving the flow characteristics of gaseous slug-laden liquid hydrocarbon wells, particularly from horizontal, of similar boreholes. The invention provides a system and method which essentially homogenizes the liquid and the gas, utilizing a unique flow tube arrangement and a sequence of steps by first breaking up and separating the slugged gas from the liquid at a first location, and then gathering it into holding location - - i.e., an annulus section - - where it is re-introduced in controlled amounts into the liquid downstream of the first location. The gas is re-introduced into the liquid flow in such pre- determined and controlled quantities as to promote better pressure and flow characteristics of the hydrocarbon liquid product. Various alternative gas/liquid separation devices are incorporated into the system of the invention, which devices may be located either in a vertical wellbore or a horizontal wellbore, depending upon the particular well characteristics. Optionally, an electric submersible pump may be incorporated where needed to assist the mixed production flow toward surface. A compressor may optionally be provided in the gaseous holding location, where needed. An apparatus for homogenizing production fluid from an oil well having one or more horizontal bores is also disclosed.

Finally, the hydrocarbon-compound-depleted absorbent solution is thermally regenerated so as to release a CO2-rich gaseous effluent and to obtain a regenerated absorbent solution.
