    • The invention relates to a frame for being arranged n an opening, e.g. in a wall or other building face, with a view to mounting of e.g. a window or a door in the opening. The frame is constructed from two or more plates, wherein at least portions of the side members of the frame are formed by the plates joined in a face-to-face relationship with a mutual spacing, whereby a slot is formed between the plates that is accessible from the outside. Such slot may be accomplished e.g. by connection of the plate in a face-to-face relationship by means of spacer blocks, by elevations embossed in at least the one of the plates or by means of fittings. The plates may be made of steel and one or more of the plates may be configured as L-profiles. Moreover, the plates may be pre-folded with embossments in those places where frame corners are to be bent at a later stage, following which the plates are joined to the effect that the plate ends most distally in the frame is slightly longer and is forced slightly away from the other late in the area where the corner is to be formed.
