    • Vibration energy introduced into plastic concrete structures, such as concrete slabs, decks and similar or related concrete structures, at or near the natural resonant frequency of the liquid concrete mass (M), expedites the consolidation and setting of the concrete. A vibrating apparatus (3) imparts controlled vibrations either onto the surface or beneath the surface of the concrete mass (M) in sequential stages, the frequency of vibrations generally increasing with each subsequent stage, corresponding to the increase in the natural resonant frequency of the progressively-narrowing liquid concrete (M2) at the top of the structure. The relatively more consolidated and more dry concrete (M1) (typically near the bottom of the slab) is substantially unaffected by the non-resonant frequencies. In one modification, sensors (5) determine the resonant frequency of the liquid concrete mass (M2) during each pass of the vibrator apparatus (3), and the frequency of the vibrating member (82) is automatically adjusted, accordingly. The number of stages, the amplitude of the vibrations, the physical orientation of the vibration-producing apparatus (3), the time duration in each stage, is variable depending upon the physical characteristics of the concrete mass (M2).

    • A device for planation of fresh concrete surface by means of surface vibration and comprising a planation means (11), equipped with a vibrator (14) and an attachment (15) for a holder (17) rotatably mounted in the vertical plane. The purpose is to provide a device which is suitable for planation of a fresh concrete surface without using screeding paths or levelling means and without leaving any marks on the way to and from the place where the planation is to take place. Furthermore it should be possible to level very small as well as large volumes of concrete over a larger or smaller surface.     • A rotating cylinder cement screeding system (10) having a drive assembly (20) and handle (26) at one end for powering and controlling the screeding system.
