    • A continuity connection system is disclosed that is highly durable, simple to install, and substantially increases the structural capabilities and weight-bearing capacity of a shell (i.e., a form or jacket). The shell can be used to protect a weight-bearing member (e.g., a cement column) from a degrading environment. The shell can have one or several layers of carbon fiber fabric (e.g., spaced apart longitudinally) wrapped around an interior of the shell or embedded within the shell. The continuity connection system is used to provide continuity between two ends of the carbon fiber layer, and can be made up of the carbon fiber fabric reinforcement layer, two pockets, and a laminate having ends positioned in each pocket. The carbon fiber laminate traverses a seam/separation of the carbon fiber fabric and/or a seam of the shell and can be retained in place within the pockets with an appropriate epoxy, for example.

This method effectively intercepts a variety of harmful earth-rays, such as a groundwater artery wave laden with electromagnetic energy ill-affecting human health and causing undesired cracks in buildings, using magnetic materials. In the earth-ray interception method of this invention, a plurality of magnet seating depressions (2), having a square cross-section with a predetermined depth, are formed at corners and centers of a plurality of square areas preset on the ground or on a reinforced concrete structure (6) of a building, with a magnet (10) seated in each of the depressions (2). The magnets (10) within the depressions (2) restore and control the earth magnetism so as to form natural shielding layers capable of intercepting such harmful earth-rays, such as the groundwater artery wave, thus finally and effectively offsetting the earth-rays at the earth crust.

    • The system for removing the soil gas from the ground surrounding the building structure (12), includes a drain tile system (10), a clean-out pipe (64), an air duct system (46), and a fan (60). The air duct system is securable to a clean-out pipe, and the fan is installed inside the air duct system. The air duct system is disconnected from the clean-out pipe during the cleaning of the drain tile system. A pressurized fluid projecting through the tip of a rocket nozzle (32), removes any obstructions in the drain tile, and the pressurized fluid projecting rearward from the nozzle, propels the rocket nozzle through the drain tile system. The air duct system is then connected to the clean-out pipe. The venting of air away from the drain tile system creates a negative pressure, which draws the soil gas into the porous drain tile whereby the soil gas is effectively prevented from entering the building structure.

The piling contours can be smoothed out by using filler pieces (15) in the channels. The gel may be impregnated in a felt inner layer (13) of the sheet material, and further gel pumped in to expel vestigial water. Alternatively, the trapped water may be mixed with a super-absorbent to form the gel.
