    • The invention relates to a method for proving the authenticity of an article. The article, on one of its surfaces, has a section on which partners of a specifically binding pair are bound in a predetermined arrangement. The surface is contacted with a second surface that has corresponding sections on which, in at least selected areas, complementary binding partners are disposed, in such a manner that the partners react with one another, at least a part of the partners carrying a detectable label. The surfaces are then separated and the arrangement of labels so produced on at least one of the two surfaces is detected. After separation, the arrangement of partners and/or labels produced on at least one of the two surfaces differs from the original arrangement of the bound partners and/or of the labels on the surface of the article.

    • The invention relates to a method for cloning and copying genetic material on surfaces as well as copying biological material insofar as it, in a broader sense, can be classified in a ligand receptor system. The invention thus relates, in particular, to a method for propagating ligands and receptors on at least two surfaces which comprises one or several of the following cycles: a) Immobilizing a ligand on a first surface of a solid phase; b) adding a solution of receptors and binding complementary receptors to the ligands; c) transferring the receptor to an additional surface and immobilizing the receptor at that location; d) attaching an additional ligand to the immobilized receptor; e) transferring the ligand to a surface and immobilizing the same at that location. Nucleic acids are also understood as a ligand/receptor system.
