摘要： A system is provided for supporting algae growth with adsorbed carbon dioxide. In the system, a channel such as a raceway is provided and holds bicarbonate solution. As algae grows in the solution, it is converted into carbonate solution. Therefore, the system provides a high surface area liquid gas contact medium for converting the carbonate solution back into bicarbonate solution. Specifically, the carbonate solution from the channel is delivered to the contact medium. At the contact medium, the carbonate solution drips or slowly moves along while air, containing carbon dioxide, moves across the solution. As carbon dioxide is adsorbed by the solution, it converts back into bicarbonate solution. Then, the bicarbonate solution is fed back into the channel to support further algae growth.

摘要： A method of growing algae is described that is part of a cogenerational energy production plant in which solar energy from a solar collecting and concentrating field is used to provide photonic energy for the growth and stress phase of algae as well as to provide heat for driving a turbine. The supplementary energy for the power plant is provided by natural gas and by biomethane that is produced by fermentation of the algal biomass. The carbon dioxide that is a by-product of the combustion of both the natural gas and the biomethane is recycled to provide the carbon source for the algal growth.

Tras estas etapas el aire se hace pasar por unos tanques fermentadores que contienen un cultivo que comprende una biofamilia de microorganismos y un inhibidor orgánico que permite una máxima absorción de CO 2 y emisión de O 2 . Mediante los métodos y sistemas descritos se consigue convertir CO 2 en O 2 con una eficiencia muy superior a los de la técnica anterior.

摘要： A bioreactor apparatus in which a container has sidewalls, a floor and a ceiling defining a chamber that contains a slurry of water, nutrients and photosynthetic microorganisms. A plurality of optical fibers, each of which has a first end disposed outside the chamber and a second end in the mixture. A light collector spaced from the container has light incident on it and focuses the light onto the first ends of the plurality of optical fibers, thereby permitting the light to be conveyed into the mixture to promote photosynthesis. At least one nozzle is in fluid communication with a source of gas, such as exhaust gas from a fossil-fuel burning power plant containing carbon dioxide. The nozzle is disposed in the mixture beneath the second ends of the optical fibers for injecting the gas into the mixture.
