摘要： Process for the production of a polymer foam with use of hydrogel pearls as porosity generating template, comprising the steps of: - providing a matrix of polymer or prepolymer in viscous state including, as a dispersed phase, hydrogel pearls, where said pearls are dispersed in said matrix so as to generate intercommunicating cells, - causing the solidification of the matrix of polymer or prepolymer to obtain said polymer foam including said hydrogel pearls, characterised in that it comprises the operation of subjecting the thus obtained foam to conditions which cause the dehydration of said hydrogel pearls so as to obtain a reduction of volume of said pearls and - removing the dehydrated pearls by immersion in water of the polymer foam or by exposure of the foam to a flow of pressurized gas or water.

摘要： A polymer composite comprising a clay modified with a coupling agent such as an organosilane; and a plant protein matrix, wherein the coupling agent couples the modified clay to the plant protein polymeric matrix. An antimicrobial agent can also be coupled to the coupling agent. Suitable antimicrobial agents include chitosan and its derivatives, transition metals and inorganic oxides. A method of forming the polymer composite coating on a substrate, a multi-layered structure comprising said composite and a composition comprising the composite is also defined. The composite is useful in food packaging.

The composite carrier is a porous material which comprises: (1) a porous organic foam material containing open pores; and (2) a crosslinked product having aldehyde groups and immobilized on the surface of the walls of one or more pores of the porous organic foam material, wherein the aldehyde groups are able to react with the protein, polypeptide or oligopeptide, and the crosslinked product are formed by chitosan via a crosslinking reaction with a polyaldehyde compound.

摘要： The present invention provides a method of producing an injectable gel product, comprising the steps of a) cross-linking a first glycosaminoglycan (GAG) with a first crosslinking agent to produce a gel, wherein the charging ratio of crosslinking agent to disaccharide unit is below 0.15; b) preparing particles of the gel from step a); c) mixing the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) gel particles of step b) with a second glycosaminoglycan (GAG) to provide a mixture; d) cross-linking the mixture of step c) with a second crosslinking agent to obtain cross-linking between the glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) of the second, outer phase, thereby providing a gel having a first, inner phase of the cross-linked glycosaminoglycan (GAG) gel particles, embedded in a gel of the second, outer phase comprising the second glycosaminoglycan (GAG), and e) preparing injectable particles of the gel from step d), each such particle containing a plurality of the cross-linked GAG gel particles of the first, inner phase. 摘要： A composite includes particles of thermoplastic polymer coated with a chitin nanowhisker gel and melt-blended. The thermoplastic polymer may be polystyrene, polyethylene, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, polycarbonate, or another thermoplastic polymer. A method of processing chitin includes forming a non-colloidal mixture substantially of chitin and hydrochloric acid to subject the chitin to hydrolysis; upon the mixture becoming substantially colloidal, controlling conditions of the mixture to slow the hydrolysis; and producing a gel consisting substantially of non-agglomerated chitin nanowhiskers and water by subjecting the mixture to filtration and a process for reducing the amount of agglomerated crystalline chitin in the mixture. A method of forming a composite of chitin nanowhiskers dispersed in a thermoplastic polymer matrix includes coating thermoplastic polymer particles with a chitin nanowhisker gel; and subjecting the coated particles to melt-blending thereby to form the composite.
