    • An apparatus for storing fluid and dispensing multiple portions of the stored fluid has a container defining a variable-volume storage chamber; a dispensing valve including a valve inlet coupled in fluid communication with the variable-volume storage chamber, and an elastic valve member in fluid communication with the valve inlet and defining a normally-closed valve opening; a manually engageable actuator; and a pump including a compressible member defining a compression chamber coupled in fluid communication with the variable-volume storage chamber. Multiple portions of the stored fluid are hermetically sealed in the variable-volume storage chamber. The actuator is manually engageable and movable between (i) a first position wherein the compression chamber defines a first volume, and (ii) a second position wherein the compression chamber defines a second volume less than the first volume. In the second position the fluid in the compression chamber exceeds a valve opening pressure and, in turn, moves the elastic valve member between (i) a normally closed position hermetically sealing the one-way valve and variable-volume storage chamber with respect to ambient atmosphere, and (ii) an open position permitting fluid flow through the valve opening.

Such methods are particularly useful in a spa. The method and device include a delivery unit consisting of a unit for selectively controlling an amount to be dispensed, a supply unit comprising a positive displacement pump (27) connected to a water spring (S) via a discharge channel leading to an ingestion unit enabling a predetermined amount of beverage to be consumed and liquids having their original properties to be transferred from one container to another. Such dispensing concepts are useful, e.g., for dispensing mineral water in spas.

    • The invention relates to the field of beverage dispensers. The prior art beverage dispensers fail to provide a dispenser that is compact and economical enough for home use. The invention solves these problems by providing and inexpensive dispenser that can mix beverages and other liquids in a compact and inexpensive manner. The dispenser houses at least one container (24) with a plunger type pump (25). A tube (26) extends form the pump to an opening (29) where a nozzle (30) is also provided to a liquid supply source. A valve (32) is attached to nozzle (30) which is engaged by bar (42) pivotally attached to the housing. A lever (21) is attached to the housing and moves horizontally to access slots (19). The lever (21) is sized and positioned so as to be able to engage the plunger type pump (25) and the bar (42) when moved downwardly in slot (19). A slit type valve (28) is preferably attached to the end of each tube which extends from a plunger type pump.

    • Apparatuses are disclosed for a small group to drink a potable liquid, such as an alcoholic beverage, or other beverage. A container preferably made of glass, metal, and/or ceramic material, and having an aperture, is provided to accommodate the potable liquid. A substance with a selected temperature is added to the container. A prefilled canister of potable liquid can then be inserted through the aperture so that the canister comes in contact with the first substance, whereby the selected temperature of the substance is allowed to influence the temperature of the canister, and thus the temperature of the potable liquid as well. A dispenser assembly with one or more hoses, pumps, and mouthpieces are also provided. Each such hose, pump, and mouthpiece facilitates a corresponding consumer in consuming the potable liquid. In a preferred embodiment, the pump dispenses a predetermined volume of the beverage to the consumer in a controlled unidirectional flow.
